My name is Deena McGee and I am a 39 year old mother of three children.  I have two busy sons;
Wesley (age 12) and Myles (age 6) and one beautiful daughter; Chase (age 8). I am less than one year
away from completing the pursuit of my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Mercer
University, based in Atlanta Georgia.

Professionally, I have been in the executive administration field for approximately 19 years.  I currently
hold the position of Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the CEO of Prime Revevenue, Inc.  In this
role, I successfully manage the day-to-day operations of our office, work within my budgetary allotment
and serve as Human Resources coordinator.  Organization, schedules, details and multi-tasking are my
areas of expertise.

As a mother of three children, I recognize the importance of strong education, leadership skills and
embedding positive morals and values into our children.  Frankly, I believe that today’s child is fortunate
to grow up in  an age of technology where their possibilities are endless.  However, I also feel that today’
s child is faced with extreme obstacles to overcome in order to reach those endless possibilities.  One
of my favorite quotes (author unknown) is:  “under pressure, eggs crack and coal makes diamonds.
The same can be said about people.”  To me, this is where the Lady Ferns can offer a positive impact
and successfully turn coal into diamonds!

My vision for this foundation focuses on entering into the lives of girls and young women from all
backgrounds/home structures/cultures, etc, acting as positive influences and mentors.  It is my hope
that this foundation will focus on the absolute importance of education and leadership.  There are
enough “followers” in this world and I am proud to be part of the mission to create empowered,
confident, educated and strong future female leaders.

I am extremely honored to be a part of the Ferns Foundation.  Along with a few other members of this
foundation, I too grew up in Duquesne, PA.  Looking back, a program of this caliber was not offer to the
young women at that time.  Although, we are fortunate that our childhood environment did not dictate the
women that we have become today,  I often  think of the greater possibilities IF in fact  this type of
organization had been in place then.  I shudder at the thought of the awesome possibilities……..

Wishing you health and happiness.
